The University of the Philippines Department of Geodetic Engineering (UP DGE) convened with its Program Advisory Council (PAC) for an initial consultation meeting held on October 4, 2025, at Melchor Hall, UP College of Engineering, Diliman.

The meeting served as a platform to strengthen collaboration between the academic department and industry experts, alumni, and government representatives who form the advisory council. Discussions focused on aligning the department’s academic programs with current industry practices and emerging trends in geospatial science, surveying, and engineering.

UP DGE faculty members presented ongoing curricular developments in its undergraduate and graduate programs, while PAC members shared insights on workforce needs, technological advancements, and areas where the department can further enhance graduate competencies.

The consultation marks the first step toward a series of engagements aimed at ensuring that the Department of Geodetic Engineering remains responsive to national and global developments in geospatial technology, planning, and sustainable development.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to continued dialogue and collaboration, reaffirming the shared goal of producing globally competitive geodetic engineers.
