The Professional Regulation Commission recognized Dr. Ariel C. Blanco as the 2025 Most Outstanding Professional in the Field of Geodetic Engineering for his unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership, and major contributions to the field of geodetic engineering and geospatial information research in the Philippines. His work has set a benchmark of excellence that continues to inspire today’s professionals and the next generation of engineers.

The award will be formally given at the 2025 PRC Awards Ceremony on September 6, 2025, at The Manila Hotel. Known as one of the country’s most respected professional recognition events, the annual PRC Awards celebrates individuals and organizations that embody excellence in their fields. This year’s theme, “Pride in Service, Respect for Duty, Commitment to Professional Excellence,” highlights the values shared by millions of Filipino professionals across industries and generations.

Dr. Blanco is a professor at the UP Department of Geodetic Engineering and is currently on secondment as the Director of the Space Information Infrastructure Bureau of the Philippine Space Agency.
