Excellence, dedication, and service — these are the marks of a true Kabataang Bulakenyo. This year, Engr. John Dave Maclang joins the ranks of outstanding young Bulakenyos recognized in the Gintong Kabataan Awards (GKA), receiving the Gintong Kabataan sa Kagalingang Pang-akademya at Agham.

The Gintong Kabataan Awards, established in 1991 by the Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Bulacan, annually honor exemplary youth who embody the true “K” — kahusayan and kakayahan. For over three decades, GKA has celebrated young achievers whose excellence resonates not only within the province but across the nation and beyond. It stands as a symbol of the unwavering brilliance and potential of Bulacan’s youth, inspiring generations to pursue continuous growth and meaningful contribution to society.

Engr. Maclang’s recognition reflects years of outstanding scholarship and leadership as a student in the University of the Philippines College of Engineering. His academic accomplishments are complemented by a trail of accolades in various research and innovation competitions, including the Engineering Innovations Congress and the College of Engineering Undergraduate Project Competition, where his works demonstrated both technical rigor and social relevance.

Beyond academics, Engr. Maclang’s commitment to service also shines through. As one of the Geodetic Engineering Representatives to the Engineering Student Council for Academic Year 2024–2025, he actively contributed to student representation and academic initiatives within the college.

Receiving the Gintong Kabataan sa Kagalingang Pang-akademya at Agham marks a milestone in Engr.
