RASA Surveying donates equipment to UP DGE

Partnerships

Lunes, Mayo 5, 2025

The UP Department of Geodetic Engineering (UP DGE) received a CHCNAV Total Station and a Satlab Automatic Level from RASA Surveying, with support from CHCNAV, to boost instruction and research in surveying.

RASA Surveying donated a CHCNAV Total Station and a Satlab Automatic Level to UP DGE, reinforcing a growing partnership under an MOU with UP TCAGP focused on advancing geodetic education, research, and collaboration.

On May 5, 2025, the Department of Geodetic Engineering (DGE) of the University of the Philippines received state-of-the-art surveying equipment from RASA Surveying—a CHCNAV Total Station and a Satlab Automatic Level. The turnover ceremony was attended by representatives from RASA Surveying—Sherwin Malanum, Engr. Rochelle Ruelan, Monaliza Guerrero, Lorein Guerrero, and Jenny Apo—as well as Michaella Datuin from CHCNAV. Representing the department were Assistant Chair for Administration Bienvenido Carcellar III and Chair Ayin Tamondong.

This donation builds on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed earlier this year between the UP Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry (TCAGP) and RASA Surveying and Realty. The MOU outlines areas for collaboration, including student internships, joint research, and data-sharing, aiming to strengthen academic-industry cooperation and promote the geodetic engineering profession.

The partnership underscores a shared commitment to innovation, capacity building, and national development through geospatial science. It reflects a unified mission to empower the next generation of geodetic engineers and contribute to a more informed and resilient society.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to RASA Surveying and CHCNAV for their invaluable support of geodetic education and research.
