The University of the Philippines Department of Geodetic Engineering (UP DGE) celebrates the achievements of its distinguished alumni at the recently concluded Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines - National Capital Region (GEP NCR) Annual Regional Convention. The event recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of geodetic engineering in both government and academia.

Engr. Charisma Victoria Cayapan of the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA) was honored as the Most Outstanding Geodetic Engineer in the Government for her exemplary service and contributions to the advancement of geospatial technologies and mapping initiatives in the public sector.

Meanwhile, Dr. Czar Jakiri Sarmiento, current UP DGE Chair and Director of the Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry (TCAGP), was awarded the Most Outstanding Geodetic Engineer in the Academe in recognition of his dedication to advancing geodetic engineering education and research.

These accolades reflect UP DGE’s longstanding legacy of producing top-caliber professionals who continue to lead and shape the geomatics industry in the Philippines. Their success serves as an inspiration to current and future geodetic engineers, reinforcing the department’s commitment to excellence.
