The UP DGE hosted a Data Visualization and Storytelling Skills Workshop designed to equip students with essential techniques in presenting data-driven insights. The event, facilitated by Ben Joseph J. Harder, Senior Data Scientist at Lista, guided participants in effectively translating complex datasets into clear, engaging narratives.

The workshop covered key aspects of data visualization, statistical analysis, and storytelling, emphasizing the importance of crafting meaningful insights from raw data. Attendees explored QGIS, Python, and visualization tools like pandas and matplotlib, applying them to real-world datasets to enhance their analytical and communication skills.

The session was open to third-year and higher-level students, particularly those enrolled in courses such as GsE 188, GsE 189, GIM 176, and GE 116, with priority given to GE 199 students. Participants were required to have a basic understanding of statistics and bring their own laptops with QGIS and Python installed to engage in hands-on exercises.

The enthusiastic participation of students contributed to the success of the workshop, making it a dynamic and interactive learning experience.
