Outstanding Students Honored at 2024 Student Excellence Awards

The UP Department of Geodetic Engineering held the 2024 Student Excellence Awards to recognize students who demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, service, and research contributions. The awarding ceremony took place during the DGE/TCAGP Thanksgiving Party on December 18 at the Maynilad Room, Melchor Hall.

The UP Department of Geodetic Engineering proudly celebrated the achievements of its students at the 2024 Student Excellence Awards, held during the DGE/TCAGP Thanksgiving Party on December 18 at the Maynilad Room, Melchor Hall. The event honored individuals who have excelled in academics, leadership, and service, reinforcing the department’s commitment to fostering excellence and innovation in geodetic engineering.

Among the top honorees was Krystel Joy S. Swin, recognized as the 2024 GE Model Student, alongside distinguished awardees in various categories. Marianne G. Lagan was presented with the Academic Excellence Award, Frederik Angelo F. Francisco received the Service Excellence Award, and Mikaela P. Santos was named Surveyor of the Year.

The department also highlighted leadership and potential among its students. The Leadership Excellence Awards were given to Mark Vinzent S. Raymundo, Princess Willen F. Villarin, Kyla Marie M. Ymasa, and Janna Jewel A. Cardiño, while Joshua O. Diacamus was recognized as the Most Promising Student.

In the academic field, outstanding students in specialized areas were honored, including Claress Anne C. Tadle for Academic Excellence in Surveying, Mark Kenneth A. Bathan for GIS/RS, and Neill Andre H. Arca for Geospatial Computations. The Best Thesis Award was given to Leila Michaella D. Cruz and Jasper B. Molleno for their research on Tidal Measurements in Limay, Bataan Using GNSS Interferometric Reflectometry (GNSS-IR), under the advisement of Asst. Prof. Luis Carlos S. Mabaquiao.

The ceremony underscored the dedication and achievements of the department’s students, inspiring future geodetic engineers to strive for excellence in their academic and professional pursuits. Congratulations to all the awardees!
