The UP Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry (TCAGP) marked its 60th anniversary with a series of events, including a research exhibit, department seminars featuring alumni success stories, and a culminating dinner. The celebration highlighted six decades of contributions to geospatial research, education, and industry collaboration.

The UP Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry (UP TCAGP) celebrated its 60th anniversary with a series of events highlighting its legacy in research, education, and industry collaboration. The celebration kicked off with an exhibit at Melchor Hall, where faculty, students, and guests explored UP TCAGP’s research breakthroughs and technological advancements in geomatics. The exhibit showcased projects that have significantly contributed to the development of geospatial sciences over the years.

Following the exhibit, a series of department seminars from October 21 to 25 featured notable alumni from government agencies, academia, and the private sector. These seminars provided students and professionals with insights into diverse career paths, geospatial applications, and industry developments. Speakers included Engr. Rene Salmingo, For. Myra Talao, Ms. Jannie Fleur Villa Oraño, Engr. Tito Jr. Cabatingan, EnP. Raemond Angelo Karagdag, Mr. Nelson Cainghog, and Engr. Leo Grafil, who shared their expertise in fields such as remote sensing, hydrographic surveying, GIS, and policy-making.

The celebration concluded with a culminating dinner on October 26, where faculty, staff, trainees, and alumni gathered to honor UP TCAGP’s legacy and strengthen professional ties. The event fostered collaboration and renewed commitments to advancing geospatial sciences in the country.

This milestone event would not have been possible without the generous support of AB Surveying and Development, Argotek Positioning Solutions, Inc., and Geospectrum Marketing Services. With six decades of impact in research and education, UP TCAGP continues to be a leader in geospatial sciences, shaping the next generation of geodetic and geomatics professionals while driving innovation and industry partnerships.
