Recognizing the impact of the pandemic on hands-on learning, the UP Department of Geodetic Engineering launched a bridging program on August 12 to help recent BS Geodetic Engineering graduates enhance their proficiency in fundamental surveying instruments.

The shift to online learning had limited students’ exposure to essential field tools. To address this, the program focused on total stations, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), and UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)—key instruments in geodetic engineering. The sessions were designed not only to refresh theoretical knowledge but also to provide practical demonstrations and hands-on training, ensuring graduates are well-equipped for their professional careers.

Through expert-led demonstrations, participants had the chance to operate instruments firsthand, reinforcing skills crucial for fieldwork and research applications. This initiative reflects UP DGE’s commitment to bridging learning gaps and preparing its graduates for the demands of the industry.
